The only reason this book is getting 4 stars instead of five is the dialogue. I can't count the number of times I had to stop and read it aloud in order to figure out what the character was trying to say. There's a fine line between leaving out words because they're just understood in face-to-face conversation and just talking in confusing phrases, and this book crossed that line. The first book didn't give me that problem so I don't know what happened. Other than that the story was wonderful and I loved the chance to get to know the other three main characters better too and see the buds of their own romances growing. Very cool stuff. I'm ready to run out and get the third!

I read this several years ago. I was not awed, in fact slightly repulsed by the end. There were certainly elements I liked. The main thread was amusing with a almost satisfying ironic edge, perhaps too overwrought to hit the mark. But there is a side story that is just horrid and ludicrously pointless. Or if not pointless, the point could have been made in a way that suggests a less sophomoric mentality.
