It's all in e-mail format. It's a quick light read and perfect for the beach.

Read the play adaption for Costume course, we are designing costumes for this play. Very nice. Filled with imagery: Bird, animal, fire, and religious. As well as a strong focus on contrasts, between gender, between sisterhood and brotherhood, and between hopes and reality. There was also this great contrast between the pre-conceived (idea of the) role of the clown which made Buffo's role intriguing, as he believes being a clown is central to life; thus clowns have a high purpose or function, whereas Fevver's (our main character) looks down upon clowns. As it is so centred around female freedom, attitude to women, and such, I obviously found it greatly to my liking, I would definitely want to watch it if I had the chance; however this would not be my favourite of all plays. It is a terribly exciting project as it holds many options to explore all the things that I really am interested in: I am planing to look into the imagery, and for the research all the lovely gothic, Vaudeville, burlesque, Follies-Bergeres, XIX century Circus related, XIX century women related things as I can! (I know random) xD I also read the book itself, because, come on, we know that we have to respect the real thing no matter what, right?

One of my favorite books of all time. The way in which in she writes is the best I've ever seen.

I read this when I was little, and remember it being very fantastical and a bit weird. But I liked it, and still think of it to this day.
